Sara is a Pacific Northwest native now living on the East Coast. She has long had a passion for green beauty and clean living as well as travel and seeking our local makers and shops. She combined those passions in 2017 and opened Wanderful Boxes, a gift box company and green beauty shop in Virginia Beach. Much like we discover new things when we travel, she hopes her gifts and shelves will bring that same feeling to people.
What time do you go to bed and wake up?
I try to go to bed by 12am, and am up by 7:30am. I strive for an earlier bedtime, but I also love my alone time once the kids are down!
What is your night time routine?
Get the kids in bed, wash my face with my favorite Code of Harmony oil cleanser, then layer on a face mask or apply my serum, face oil, and use my gua sha stone. Some Niche Cleanse or Sleep tea and I’m ready to relax!

One without kids waking me up! Ideally, 7+ hours.
What helps you get to sleep and what tips do you have for when you can’t get to sleep?
I really like my Himalayan salt lamp and feel that the glow from it helps me get ready for sleep. If I can’t sleep, I focus on counting deep breaths and replaying some of my favorite moments with my kids.
Why is sleep so important to you?
It affects everything! I have Hashimoto’s and am pre-diabetic and while it’s pretty controlled now, I definitely flare up when I’ve missed sleep for several days in a row.
How does sleep help you be the best version of you?
Sleep recharges my patience and helps my brain function at its best. Owning a small business and having 2 young children on summer vacation can be a lot to handle. I need all the energy I can get!
